NVIDIA’s enterprise AI pitch just moved closer to the data center floor
Splunk and NVIDIA expanded their partnership to support Splunk AI on customer-controlled, on-premises, private-cloud and air-gapped infrastructure. The Cisco AI POD for Splunk combines Cisco infrastructure, NVIDIA accelerated computing, AI runtime software and Kubernetes architecture; Splunk said the configuration is generally available, while NVIDIA Nemotron open models are expected in the coming months.
Why this matters
This gives NVIDIA a route into regulated enterprise workloads that cloud-only AI cannot easily reach. The economic prize is not established revenue—the announcement provides no order values or commitments—but a lower deployment barrier: customers can buy a pre-tested configuration instead of assembling and validating GPUs, software and infrastructure themselves. That packaging could pull NVIDIA compute into Splunk’s installed base, though the presence of Google and OpenAI models means NVIDIA is supplying the platform without controlling every layer of demand.
